Thunderbird Club

Boy I miss playing rock n roll. Tryna do something about that... reggae is cool, psyche is art. But rock n roll is where my heart is at, I think. So essential, so unimpressive. Perfect.

This is how I picture you Rog.

People don’t like things they don’t understand. They don’t understand how a bass that wasn’t designed by Leo Fender, and so oddly shaped, could sound so good.
Also people don’t understand that two humbuckers will react differently to amp EQ, than a single split-coil, or two single coils.

Glad you are able to understand, and joined the right side… I mean Bird side :bassist:

This bass is pure gold, I’m kind a glad that some people don’t get it, it’s not for everyone but it’s beast for those who understand them

I'm going to be selling my EB-3, just sayin'. Some car repairs and two days sick from work and I'm selling an instrument. Work like a yoked ass just to remain in a headlock... anyway the bass is quite nice if you like EB-3s. Going into the classifieds this weekend.

Man! That sucks Roger! I feel your pain though, been hit with a few unexpected bills of late ourselves (4 new tires and a washing machine pushing up daisies!). Best wishes to you brother.

That's a drag, when that happens... Fortunately I've not been in that situation yet, despite a huge car repair bill last month ($4.000)... And they didn't even fix all the stuff they had to - So it's going into the shop again on monday - Hopefully I still have money left for that.... :(

Oh man I'm in love with Thunderbird, where were I all this years, I don't understand people complaining about it. So much raw power with grit and attitude. It's covering sonic space same as Pbass, maybe even better for me. Anyway I made this bass comparison yesterday, hope you like it, sorry for sloppy playing but simply I don't care and I was always like that.

Great shootout!

I may find myself under attack for saying this... but I think that Peavey walked all over the P-bass! That Peavey had some grit and attitude! I liked it a lot! Obviously, the Thunderbird sounded better than both of the others.:smug:

My favorite thing about your video, was watching how much more you were enjoying playing the T-bird, than the others. It seemed quite obvious to me, that you are really diggin' that bass!:thumbsup:

You know that saying what goes around comes around? Last week I made the decision that me and my Bird needed to spend more time playing with others. We heard on a few occasions that My Bird sounded fine but nowhere near as warm or bottom end heavy as my Precision and although that is true it was the unique sound factor I was after when I installed the Rickenbacker pups and as much as I wanted to incorporate that Thunderbacker into my bands sound I could not, realization settled in and off went the Rick neck pup into the EB3's bridge position and into the Birds neck position came the.........Bird's bridge pup!. I still have a Chickenbacker neck pup in the Birds bridge position so now my Bird is a Thunderchicken. All strung up with NYXL nylon coated string 70 - 135 gauge. The Bird is back, pissed off and ready to rumble! I never know what to play for a sample so I just live in the moment.
