The inserts are totally different between the Gibson and Epi. The Gibson's are down in the body while the Epi's sit on top of the body. That is probably why you don't hear about it happening on Gibson Birds.

So I fixed the inserts! Just some scrap slivers of wood and tapped the insert down, tried it without glue first, and it's staying put. So unless it pulls out again I'm not gluing it.
The treble side is a little troubled though, it is angled forwards (towards the neck). I think the hole is actually drilled on an angle or something, but it isn't pulling up either, so unless that changes, I'm going to leave it as is.
For a total of $100 CAD, I have zero complaints!

I do have a fair amount of OCD believe it or not. But for $70, I'm not gonna spend too much time on it to get it completely perfect, anytime soon. Plus it's not a very noticeable problem.

Something looks extremely weird on the nut, look at the A and D string spacing.
Weird?, how about nasty?. That would so not be the case in my possession, that would make me lose my mind.
Easy fix, new nut. Long as there are no other issues.

The USA ones also have more aggressive ridges. No glue necessary!
Looks like the D string is out of its groove or some goofball installed a nut without a clue on proper cut locations for appropriate string spacing.
You know Carlo, i'd be like a little kid shaking with excitement if i were to ever see all of your basses in person.

Yeah that is "non-standard" for sure. GC has a 30 return policy. I bet if you got that and it was as wonky as it looks, they would fix it. The other thing to do is call the listing store. That is what I did with mine. I asked and they e-mailed me a whole series of additional pictures before I bought it.
