In the meantime, I am hunting Gibson G3s- I have a reissue but I think I might like a 70s one.

Yes... the conversation has been flowing like the warm, honey-drenched tone of a Thunderbird through hot tubes:cool:

Seems that folks get real chatty when they're trying to appear busy on their phones to avoid uncomfortable moments with annoying relatives this holiday season:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Never had a problem deciding whether or not I should customize it, value never factored in because I knew I would never let it go and after owning it since 1987 we needed a makeover. 7027A power tubes, Baxendahl (b-15 style) tone stack channel 1, Fneder style channel 2. Sweet combo!. Cost me $250 shipped from Git Cntr in Dallas a few years ago. They just stuffed it in a Marshall 4-12 carton. Broke a pilot lamp. One microphonic Mullard. Otherwise, perfect.
Jess said his only regret was not spacing the power tube sockets far enough apart to use KT 88s.

Have you ever tried a 70’s G3? I’ve had a early 70’s and an early 80’s. Love em a lot. Very different from the reissues. The right one is a fun little grind machine in the ‘buck and a half’ setting
