I am a bit puzzled by the strong negative reaction to KISS. They are just a band. I love a wide variety of music. Early Rock and Roll Chuck Berry being one example of many great artists from that era. The Beatles, The Who, Badfinger, Slade, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Wishbone Ash, Yes, Rush, Ramones, Bowie, Social Distortion, Ian Hunter, Mott The Hoople, Mountain, Widow Maker, Brian Setzer, The Alarm etc, etc, etc. I even have developed a appriciation for the music of my parents generation, Sinatra, Bing, Dorsey, Lemon Sisters, etc. There are plenty of bands I don't care for but I doubt I would put paper to pen and write a tirade about them.
I had relatively narrow musical interests as a teen (like most), but as I got older, my tastes broadened . A lot.
Kiss, like many others, have some great songs. But, I have to separate the music from the individual(s) because I have a personal dislike for the individuals. Also in that category is Neil Young, Alannah Myles, Pearl Jam, Guns N Roses/Axl Rose... There are many whom I don't think I have heard anything but the music, and so have no opinion on the individuals. And that is how I prefer it.
