How was the scale and size different from what you’d used before?

I went from a Hofner to the G3, it was a stretch!
But the tone is what didn't resonate for me, quite possibly from Gibson's uninspired flat wound strings.

Gosh, back then flats weren’t even on my radar. Loved the G3 with rotos. Big ol’ grind machine. Have flats on a couple basses now, but back then I had no use for that sound

Hmm, was kinda expecting the yba 200 to show up at home today, but nothing so far. Leaving memphis tonight after the gig. Prayer Flags practice tomorrow afternoon and an Eskimo Brothers gig tomorrow night. Woulda been nice to try that amp. Really need to work on my patience

It may be a feature of YBA200s. Delivery of mine was a close run thing. It arrived the afternoon before him indoors arrived back from 6 weeks at his mum's. He wasn't going to be a happy bunny, particularly as the YBA200 is somewhat more voluminous than a PF500 magic smoke machine.

Watching Blind Mississippi Morris. Legendary memphis blues dude. He’s amazing, except the urban gospel/fusion backup band today. Trying to jazz all over Muddy Waters tunes. Hurts me in my heart

I saw Muddy Waters a few times back when. He could really bring it. And, his music would resist being jazzified. As much as I love jazz, there are places it doesn't go.

Wasn't he often not even plugged in, with a roadie behind the amp playing the bass parts?

I'm not certain they could afford to pay actual roadies back then.

Because it was a great outlet for teenage angst, it was raw , it had passion, it was real and whether one wants to believe it or not hardcore and punk gets pretty complex and is trickier to play with odd high speed timing changes. I could walk out of a mosh pit covered in "real" blood and feel as though I'd been saved, better alternative than acting out by making negative choices and paying for it later. Ahh hell who am I to explain?, I'll come back in a week and hopefully this Kiss thing will have blown over by then. Didnt mean to start a war.
