So my classic pro arrived. It's far lighter than my Pro IV. Can't tell you how much lighter, but i noticed it as soon as I picked it up.. Like my Pro IV it arrived with a significant back-bow to the neck. Adjusted up fine. Lowered the action some. Plays real sweet. I like the wood on the fretboard more than the Pro IV too. Much darker. The serial number starts with 17. Does that make it a 2017 model? If so its probably not rosewood then? Either way it looks great. Haven't really plugged in yet. It'll be seeing light duty today with some friends from church. Not quite the right song list for a proper debut, but I'll look good playing the Monkees, America and early Beatles.
Now, get this sick twist of fate. Two of my biggest advocates have been my music teacher an my buddy who owns a local mom n pop. They both know my recent infatuation with all thing TBird and think I'm truly touched. Yesterday they took in a Gibson Tbird in black on consignment. Being of limited discretionary income I was psyched when I saw new Birds at the online sites, thinking, now I'll own an actual Gibson Thunderbird. But I opted for the Epi. Trying to be responsible and all. Now this used one has come my way with the option of striking a deal on it. Oh the cruel irony of life. Had I been a LITTLE more patient........Of course ZZounds does offer a 45 day return policy. Hmmm. Hope everyone's staying warm! It's -2 Fahrenheit outside my door!
