My buying is done for a bit now, too. I came across a transmitter for my wireless at too good a price to pass up. I grabbed a lightly used Line 6 G30 earlier this year for $140 shipped and have been looking for a second transmitter ever since. The transmitters alone are usually $150; more than I put into the whole system! I came across one ANIB for $119 and free shipping so I grabbed it, even though that expense wasn't budgeted for. Sure makes swapping easier! It'll give me an opportunity to switch basses for different tones rather than just something going wrong.

I don't blame you. Most of my basses get inevitable wear from gigs but I wouldn't ever want a bass I bought new to have wear if I intended to keep it nice and clean.

There rare birds lol. I have known about them for years but never had a opportunity to get one locally. I just dont want to over pay for it. Its substantially more then the $900 I paid for used dinged sunburst and black t birds in the past but it is a minty 1 of 400 basses so I guess that calls for a premium. Unfortunately the only one I can find that was posted on TB had a asking price of $2,000, no idea if it sold at that but YIKES that is not cheap.

I don't remember if the one on eBay sold. I do not think the asking price was 2 G's though. Seems high.

I posted this and then removed it as I didnt have the right info on it. I have a line on getting this. A 2007 Zebrawood T Bird, 1 of 400 made. I really want to get this but I don't want to throw a lowball offer, anyone have a ball park as to the value of these? I don't know if there worth substantially more then a regular one or not but I want it.

$2,000 has to be high, but its open to negotiation. Sadly with the t bird increase to around $2500 new I have seen used prices climb and I know this is rare but yeah 2k seems a little much. I expect to pay a premium over a basic burst of course.

I will feel out the owner. I think it was on eBay but I found it in California on craigslist and arranging to get it on a trip as its north, so long as I can work out a price with him. I think its one of those types of deals where its worth as much as someone is willing to pay so will see!

For what it's worth I just found a Zebra used supposedly in great shape. Pictures look good. $450 bucks! droolGood night I kinda wish I had the cash because it's within easy driving distance.

Holy cow! A gibson zebrawood for $450? I once found a regular beat up tbird with a repaired headstock crack for $500 but thats it, never found a gibson bird under $850.

Ok, so as promised, heres the long awaited ebay classic.

so cosmeticly the nut looks kinda bad, and theres some glue on the rosewood, but it sounds fine. It is adjustable so thats a big plus.

Came with a Levy strap and Loxx straplocks (never heard of them myself. Work similar to dunlops)

has these awful stickers on it. They're really on there too. Might have to break out the hairdryer

I knew this would be good here. The rounded corners are the give away that these are actually emg tbird pups not generic emgs.

think im done with her for tonight. Oiled the fretboard (had a mediocre fret dressing done so they're smooth, but you can see the sanding marks. Also some wear from round wounds. Pretty sure the ones i removed were roto swing 66's.)
Strung her up with DR flats too. Not sure if they'll stay, but I want to try out the emgs with them.
Switched to light chromes on my other classic. Much better. Sounds so much better and less tension. The DRs sounded awful with any kind of tone rolled on. Sounded great with tone off though and a cranked neck pickup.

Definitely a good buy. Basically anything needing attention is only setup and cosmetic. This will be an excellent bass with some filler, sanding, and paint. Someone put a lot of time and money into this one. Guy even signed the inside of the control cover "custom build sep 2014" and his name. Just needs finishing now.

Congrats on the new 'bird and your growing flock!

The black vinyl is definitely not flat black but not super shiny either. It's kind of what you'd expect from a black vinyl automotive window vinyl.

NBD, Take 2 and it's way better than what Take 1 was supposed to be. Not MINTY, but absolutely MINT 2014 Gibson SG Standard 120th Anniversary Edition is on its way! Pics when I get it!

So last night I was Googling Zebrabirds and I really did find one. I found an add here on TB from about a 1.5 years ago. So I wrote the guy.

He is still a TBer but is more passionate about his P than his Bird. That's cool. I haven't asked him what value he thought the Zebra might be but back when he was considering its having a new nest a trade is what he wanted to consider. Then he was in the 2g area. sounds like he wants to keep it around at the present moment.
