Lmao...I said it SOUNDED good, didn't say it was a good job. TBH I've never in my life seen a "good" nut job. They're all varying degrees of ***?
This one was cut too deep and then shimmed. Not much I can do at this point, but before the refinish I will smooth out the nut with diamond files and polish it, and likely bondo the cutout and sand flush. (Unless anyone has any better ideas?)

I'm just thankful the final product will have an opaque finish.

Yeah they glow.
I guess you'd have to see them in person. They're not all covering their respective dots, and they're half on the fretboard half on the neck...and sooo big.
Just looks gimmicky to me.

going for the Steath Bomber of tbirds.

It'll be a gloss/satin black combo. Not flat, satin since it wears better. Figure body neck and headstock gloss and satin wings and interior of headstock. Gloss black PG and TRC will pop from the satin on the wings and headstock center.

Then either a blank or gibson TRC. If gibson it'll be silver or gold logo and matched bird on black. If blank probably leave it that way and do a black bird on the black PG.
Going to stain the board ebony also.

Im also thinking about buying a bone nut blank and just re doing it. I could easily add thickness to the bone by gluing it together with another nut. Look a lot better than shims.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. I'm not trying to hack job this thing. Do it right or don't do it.

Played awhile with the flats on. Ran through most of the band songs and some Clutch and cream and albert king.
Does them all pretty well with a few tweaks. Didnt have to touch my amp.
Doesn't have the same character as the tbird + pups, but it's very versatile. I like it

So last night I was Googling Zebrabirds and I really did find one. I found an add here on TB from about a 1.5 years ago. So I wrote the guy.

He is still a TBer but is more passionate about his P than his Bird. That's cool. I haven't asked him what value he thought the Zebra might be but back when he was considering its having a new nest a trade is what he wanted to consider. Then he was in the 2g area. sounds like he wants to keep it around at the present moment.

Yeah I saw that one. I think 2g's is a great price to ask if you dont really want it to sell lol. Me and the Owner of the one I am interested in came to a agreement, I am going to drive up and get it next week.

Did you guys see this short scale Tbird on eBay? The auction is over and it was listed locally and I contacted the owner. No one picked it up at $1200 but it can be had for less than a grand. I've got contact info if you're interested.
