Did you guys see this short scale Tbird on eBay? The auction is over and it was listed locally and I contacted the owner. No one picked it up at $1200 but it can be had for less than a grand. I've got contact info if you're interested.

One sold on CL here in Vancouver for $500 recently and it was sitting for about 5 months.

True, short scale will decrease swing weight quite a bit.

Before I cut into a headstock on any bass I'd try using a wider more grippy strap, then if that didn't do it I'd stick with the grippy strap and move the pin location, then if that didn't do it I'd keep the grippy strap and new pin location and swap the tuners out for some ultra lights. I have a 2.75 inch Franklin leather strap, holds the house down in a storm.

I actually really like the smaller headstock. Looks more Bird of Prey ish. Plus it would weigh a ton less missing what almost half a pound of wood. Maybe a little less than that.

Im not going to do it, I was just thinking out loud.

I found a couple cool colors for ya:
I like this color pattern. Easy to put a couple two or three scallops on it.

Gold flake was everywhere in the sixties and early seventies.

Ford's blue and orange win a lot of races.

I still can't figure out why the current headstocks look like cheese knives when they look so bad ass inverted. Reverse those angles and you have the rockinest TBird headstock ever. If it weren't for my complete and total lack of skills and talent, that's where I'd be making piles of money. I'm talkin' profit to the tune of like $200.

It's etched & distressed copper-leaf over black with a poly gloss clear-coat. A gentleman in Germany bought/owns it. I haven't seen it built up yet but will post pics once he sends them.
