I would try replacing V3 with a 12AT7 or even a 12AU7. Less gain, but should provide more current to the output tubes.

Played an M-Bassy today. Reports of excessive lightness were true of this one; gloriously lightweight. Loved that. The neck looked like a British aircraft carrier deck and it had fret sprout big time. Both sides of the neck, top to bottom. Just about the worst I've ever seen. All correctable, and weather related. The bridge was almost to the deck on the treble side. Even in desperate need of set up and repair it still played pretty well. The body is still kinda funky lookin', but I like it. Makes me REALLY want a Vintij Proe.

@dukeorock Whenever you say it's cold, it makes me laugh a little. Don't get me wrong, if you're not use to it, it feels like it's freezing. But this is what goes through my brain....

And yes, we... some of us still BBQ in the winter

I went to see this show in 2012: Invalid Link Removed . It was pretty great. Vernon Reid did an incredible job with Robert Fripp's solo on Baby's on Fire.
