As you know, I really like Precisions. But, I have discovered that I can get a good P sound out of the 2015. It's even better when it's a humbucker. So, a Thunderbird pickup located at the P sweet spot is probably the ideal way to make a Precision sound. My P-Bird has a P pickup and I think it sounds great, so what does that tell you about consistency?
The one thing that's consistent is that I don't like salami stuck to the front of a bass, and I'm not a fan of nasal, whiny J type objects.

I haven't really looked deeply into my VP bridge yet but if I recall correctly, each saddle is sized to match the radius of the fretboard when the saddle block is set level. However, since the G string is thinner than the E string you can probably drop the treble side of the bridge a bit to improve action on the G and D strings. So yes, one side of the bridge can be lower than the other. The key is - does it play nice with little to no fret buzz, and are you happy with the action. I am with mine.
Yeah it plays great, I just wanted to be sure that it was fine to have one side a bit lower since it was. Just ignorant to this bridge and model so far but really like it, best thing going for the money.

The best J sound (for me) that I was ever able to wrangle was a 60’s style BMV with both pickups wired series. I tried really hard to embrace the J thing as another viable sound in the old arsenal, but I never could make it work for what I want. I can get a ‘Bird to go into P bass territory somewhat, but the other way round isn’t so easy

Well, I might be a kook too because that definitely occured to me. But the white ones would look really "clean." I dunno... might have to post pics with both sets when they arrive. LolI think the black knobs would best compliment the bass... but I'm a li'l bit of a kook. I'd like to see it with gold knobs

Sounds like you and @kat888 are married to the same guy!
On the other hand, my wife notices everything. Right down to string changes. The other day she popped into the bass room while I was practicing and said, "didn't that one have blue silks before". She was right, I had changed up to Rotos with red silks. Can't get a thing past her. I don't even attempt to sneak a new bass into the house. Fortunately she's very supportive of my bass habits (probably because my other habits are a lot more expensive).
That's why you have us!
But Birds 'only do one thing'?
