On the other hand, my wife notices everything. Right down to string changes. The other day she popped into the bass room while I was practicing and said, "didn't that one have blue silks before". She was right, I had changed up to Rotos with red silks. Can't get a thing past her. I don't even attempt to sneak a new bass into the house. Fortunately she's very supportive of my bass habits (probably because my other habits are a lot more expensive).
Mine doesn’t have that finely tuned radar for string changes, but she notices the different basses for sure. She likes that I hung em all up in the music/bike room because she likes the way they look. She’s bummed I sold the ‘76 P because she liked the way it looked. Especially since I sold it to get another bass (‘02 ‘Bird) that looks a whole lot like one I already have (‘14). She also told me yesterday that I can’t sell my Gamma P bass because it’s the ‘prettiest’ one hanging on the wall. Fine with me as I wasn’t planning on selling it anyway
