Quick question; I could got to GP but I feel safer, here, with the rest of the outcasts.
Is there anything stopping someone from running one of those new QSC cardioid subs as an amp? It's not much heavier than most bass amps. Less than an 8x10. I need a second rig.

If I read the info on the qsc correctly, lots of bass where you want it, in front of you, but not much business above 100 hz.......

I'll have to look that one up to see what you're talking about but to me it sounded like, "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits, slowed down a bit.

I didn't realize that was the name of "that" song... yeah, I hear it too but slowed way way down as well.

That idea had crossed my mind. Also putting it towards my second Cataldo. Which would leave me with only two basses but that's two more than most people.

But one less than necessary.

What truly boggles my mind is that there were seven ebony Thunderbirds made in 1979, and six of them are as pristine as they are. The seventh may be completely thrashed, but I'm sure you will find it. Which is another mind boggler. I can think of far worse obsessions.
