Thunderbird Club

Really appreciate your efforts Hillerup, Thank you.

Question - what's your opinion of how those basses sound compared to your stock TB+ equipped ones? At this point that's really the primary concern.

In my current band context with virtual gear they sound pretty much the same as the stock ones with the black hardware. If there is a difference - I either can't hear it, or it may be due to different strings.

No worries, Larry. I just get tired of the occasional having to justify things like this! But, that said, I work hard for things like this. Cheers, man!

I see absolutely no need to justify buying/collecting Thunderbirds in this club - On the contrary, it's mandatory and expected of our members... :)

Could do with more info about what exactly the Traynor tonestack is doing. It's passive, ie cut only, but the midrange is sweepable. To me it sounds best with the sweep on 0, with more low-mid emphasis. Also there's a 'resonance' knob which controls the poweramp damping. It goes from tight to full bloom.
I like that damping feature, as much as I understand it...

You shouldn't limit yourself, once you ( @KingFace ) has all of them, move on to white vintage TBirds... this way I know where to find a couple when I finish college and can hopefully afford them ;)

King better not divulge where he lives, it'll turn out that some club members here will be like a bunch of vultures circling over head....................

I thought Gene played Rippers. Granted they do look very similar.

Must not forget he started out on a Charlie LoBue shortscale, which looks like a cross between a SG and a LP doublecut.

Later he switched to the Punisher basses, which have a similar shape...
