The DR201 drives the 2×15 and a 4x12, the DR103 drives one 4x12. I run the DR103 a little dirtier with more treble than the 201.

So the 3rd amp is just a spare?

Was able to jump on for a few minutes this morning but did need to jump past a few pages. It went from 3108 to 3120 in 24 hours! I will be 58 pages behind when I get back from the trip.



If JAT can make the Voodoo knobs I definitely want two sets. The silver you posted would look cool as well on the right bass.
Silver reflectors on an ebony Epi VP?? Hmmmmmmmmmm.......

That would look even better than the original gold ones...

I'm considering a set of those silver ones for my TV Silver model.

They make 2 instrument stand too. Which is cheaper than buying two single stands. Just an idea.

Two instrument stands are what I use on stage - Take up less space than two singles...

Where do you typically play in Copenhagen? I've done quite a few gigs there...ShackShakers did a couple weird residencies there with a performance art group called Mute Comp...did a 9 week theater thing. Bought a bike to ride around the city...beautiful place!

Where do you typically play in Copenhagen? I've done quite a few gigs there...ShackShakers did a couple weird residencies there with a performance art group called Mute Comp...did a 9 week theater thing. Bought a bike to ride around the city...beautiful place!

Playing in an original electronic/EBM/Industrial band, there are limited places to play, as the scene for this kind of music is very small around here.

We have a couple of small venues in central Copenhagen:

Lygtenstation.dk - Kulturhus på Nørrebro

Musikcaféen | Huset KBH

and a medium sized one outside Copenhagen:

I have the latter double and quadruple stands, and they work perfect with all kinds of wierd shaped basses and guitars.

Neat!! If they were easily accessible around here, I'd try one given the chance. But Hercules are everywhere.

Still chasing down the concept of writing/recording songs using only one instrument. Every track on this is my '02 Gibson, no other instruments used...it's kinda noisy...fair warning...

Once again vintage Sunday is here, for those of you who missed my first post I am chronicling my early years collection and the path that lead me to Thunderbirds.
My second bass was a '65-'66 Hofner purchased in if I remember correctly Feb of '73. I remember driving out to R.I.T with my dad in a snow storm to get it. The seller lived in RITs student apartments. It was a funky place, black lights and hippie art and there laid out on the couch was the Hofner. I can only imagine what my Dad a WWII era Marine thought. After a few minutes of noodling on the bass my Dad asked are you sure this is what you want? I of course said yes he forked over the sum of $125.00. I remember it being a very happy ride home. God bless my Dad the stuff he did for me.
I foolishly traded the Hofner for another bass in '76, more on that next week.
In '81 I spotted the my bass at a local rercording studio I was laying tracks at. I tried to buy it but the studio owner didn't want to sell, he did say he would call me if he ever did. Well he never did call but in '83 I saw a add in the paper for a Hofner for sale and it turned out to be mine! I was broke so I brokered a deal with a good friend of mine who really wanted a Hofner. He gave me rights to first refusal. In '86 he called me up and asked if I wanted it, I jumped at the chance. It's been in my possession ever since.

Local Long & McQuade has a new natural 2014 Gibson Thunderbird for $1950 or something. Same price even before the the 2018's came out. Not listed as discounted, and probably the price it was 4 years ago... when will stores learn?

I haven't seen a new thunderbird (Epi or Gibson) in my local L&M yet. But, they do have 2 Embassy and an RD artist (very nice and having thoughts about it).

Ampeg glommed onto 'preamp out' sixty years ago.

The B-15 is bulletproof thanks to a coast to coast tour to ThunderBucker Electronics. With it and the power amp sections of either the B-1 or 900 Streamliner and various cabs I'm ready for any eventuality.

Then there's always the nuclear option: SVP, 900 honest watts per channel @2 ohms.

St. Catharines. It’s a 2014, not a new 2018. If you wanna check out a 2018, you can see which stores have them in stock via their website.
Haven’t seen a VP yet either, they’re not even listed on their site.

Yeah, my PF 500 turned out to be an expensive doorstop, Streamliner 900 has been fine if a little bottom heavy, but Class D is here to stay. My backup is a 1990s USA single rackspace 150 watt Ampeg B-1 with two 12AX7 pre and mosfet power.

I guess this is my 'Vintage Sunday' post...Tort!

My Genz Streamliner 900 came housed in a Carvin 1-15 combo cab. 2 space rack in the top that would let me swap out another head when needed. Its basically a 58 lb combo with an a$$load of power. Not sure the cab is the best fit for the head but I also have the Genz Uber 212 cab and I have read that they are a great match. After my trip I plan to test the Genz thru the Genz to see how that sounds.

Very cool!! Thats the kind of thing I mess around with at home. I like to do strange sounding "soundscapes", which is really just me dicking around with some pedals.

Hah, thanks. Not obvious from this photo is that if I’d moved any further to the right the headstock would collide with a monitor shelf, and any further to the left I’d collide with the guitarist. Terrible stage setup/orientation.

This is a time that being a lefty is a benefit to you. If you were right handed, you and the guitarist would probably be hitting each other with headstocks all night.

And now I am heading out to my mothers house, which means almost no internet access for a week. I will return next Saturday and try to catch up.
