Speaking of bridges...when I chromed out the ‘02 I went with this Hipshot replacement bridge...
At first I thought it looked a little bulky/clumsy (I actually like the way 3 Point Bridges look), but it’s growing on me. Does it improve the sound? I have no idea, because I replaced the pickups at the same time as the bridge. The Lollar pickups are terrific, but as the picture shows, they’re slightly smaller and shallower than the original Gibson pickups. Jeff and I were talking about workarounds, which I may attempt. I also contacted Austin, at Lollar and asked his advice. He said the best option was to just get a set of rings, so I did, though I really like the spartan thing without em

Geoff, we're at #706 IIRC, as you can see though some of them are a bit more chatty than others
Makes no sense to me either.
I like the Hipshot Supertone on my 2001. The saddles won't fall off if I break a string either.

I love Hipshot Bridges! Just getting used to it visually not being a 3 point. The older style bridges are rad too. I like the one on my Cataldo a lot. Super simple and works great
It's all for the love of strange and bizarre whacky bridges. Especially the Buick looking design of the Ric.

When I put the Babicz on the 2001, I thought it sustained a little better. That surprised me a lot, because I dismissed claims that the bridge makes a difference as marketing hype. I like the way a Babicz looks and I like its adjustments. I didn't put a Babicz on either the 1991 or the 2001 for better sound. But, the 2001 seems to sustain just a little better with it. Go figure.

Setting up a Ric bridge is a PITA. The good thing is that once set, it's set for good. Come to think if it, that's true of just about every bridge. Never mind...

That bridge is chrome, not nickel?
It's a great bridge. I have a black one on mine. I just don't like the front part bowing out to cover the third bolt hole. I love their two-point.

My people!!! Just did a ride earlier...only 22 miles, but I’m easing back into it after being a total slacker all winter. Got a little over 50 Miles in this week...hopefully 100 by Sunday
