Thunderbird Club

There aren't many pics of him with his T-bird, but yes, Felix had one and recorded with it too. Most of the Nantucket sleighride album and much of the Mountain output after that album as well.

I remember that picture! Got it in a music book somewhere.

Did someone say "Thunderbird with an EHX Bass Soulfood pedal"?

(I did this a few years ago. Sounded really great!)

That soul food pedal has a lot of knobs (is that a JHS upgrade? Mine only has three knobs . I turn the first knob up all the way and the second ( distortion/overdrive) all the way down and then if I need just a little more top end I turn the second up just a little. The tone knob gives you control over what harmonic mid frequencies you want to accentuate. Mine is usually around 11:50 close to the middle.

Well, gosh, one more I have to find out about. Shiny boxes want to breed in the drawer. I'll probably end up with a whole drawer full of fuzz before I find one I really like.
I only use it for harmonic midrange control. Seems to me the best distortion in a box is the Billy Sheehan EBS pedal it has a cool feature that keeps your bass tone intact and let's you bring in the distorted tone without affecting your original bass one a all and you can also put effects on either side without affecting he other. I guess the lastest incarnation gives you the option f being able to add your own eight prong chip for a unique tone for the player.

Does yours look like this one?

I had one, but in my band it was too subtle. I had to Go the more obnoxious route of a true distortion and got the MXR M85 Bass Distortion. It's just naaaaasty...in the best way.
