Thunderbird Club

So the guitar version. The bass one looks like this

I had thought about one of those. Thought for a long time... But, I'm enjoying the Sansamp overdrive. If I were to add something, I would be looking at the hot wax

EHX makes some interesting stuff.

With great volume comes great responsibility. Of course, that great volume is meaningless if it isn't exercised once in a while.

It goes from polite and barely audible (below the first indicator dot) to 'now we're talking' to 'hello officer' in short order. It was turned back down after the Broughton had a workout the other day.

That soul food pedal has a lot of knobs (is that a JHS upgrade? Mine only has three knobs . I turn the first knob up all the way and the second ( distortion/overdrive) all the way down and then if I need just a little more top end I turn the second up just a little. The tone knob gives you control over what harmonic mid frequencies you want to accentuate. Mine is usually around 11:50 close to the middle.

No, no mods on this - it's the Bass model. The extra knob is a "blend" that moves the signal more or less with clean bass tone.

I had one, but in my band it was too subtle. I had to Go the more obnoxious route of a true distortion and got the MXR M85 Bass Distortion. It's just naaaaasty...in the best way.

Yep, I'm using a Russian Big Muff clone called Tsar Bomba by the folks right here in Vancouver called Union Tube and Transistor. It's exactly what I needed.

There aren't many pics of him with his T-bird, but yes, Felix had one and recorded with it too. Most of the Nantucket sleighride album and much of the Mountain output after that album as well.

I'd always heard he'd used a TII for Sleighride, but I'd never seen any photos, awesome to see it. Absolutely love those first two Mountain albums.

IME and according to my taste, the bridge pup adds nothing, and may in fact take something away. There are others around here of the same mind.
Agreed. Every time I kick in the bridge pup I lose volume. I suppose it could be age(1967)but I vaguely remember it's always done that.

I find truth to this as well. Might not totally apply to my other bass. But on a Thunderbird....
To me, what the bridge pup adds, (which i find very little, just me) is if you go beyond the sweet spot of blending the two, it's pointless having the bridge pup in there.
