Thanks veebass. Yeah, I know Seth, met him in the early nineties at a NAMM convention. Quite the legend. It is indeed a humbucker.
The one pictured is a recent reissue of a Seth Lover(of Gibson PAF pickup fame) wide range bass design that was used in the 72- 79 (?) Telecaster Basses.
I have basses fitted with these pickups.
I understand the reissue is not exactly the same as the originals.
They are both high output pickups and are similar in sound to mudbuckers IMO, in that the lows and mids predominate.
The pickup you pictured can be wired up in a number of ways and is actually quite versatile. BTW I saw somewhere recently that you could buy these pickups separately.
Here is a bit of info on Seth.

I hastily sent that picture not realizing it was a Squire. Later I found better ones, my bad.
I owned on of these Telecaster basses in the 80's (someone had installed a split Pbass pickup as well) for a short time so I don't remember the tone. I got rid of it because it felt uncomfortable to play.
What I was really asking was does this Fender humbucker resemble the EB-0/1/2/3 neck humbucker at all? I was thinking it may have been the same pickup in Fender clothing. I have a chance to buy one hence my question.
Thanks again.
