So is it me, or does the blackbird have a different neck profile? It seems waaaay chunkier than my '14.
Rounder and deeper, like a "C" neck vs a "D" shape neck almost. Haven't measured or anything but either im crazy or its different.

You notice this on yours?

Maybe cause Nikki has big hands & decided to make the profile suit his hands better? just a thesis. From what i remember, i like the gibson blackbird better than the epiphone version. Not just because of the neck through or ebony board, but because the switch feels flimsy in the epiphone. Plus having a gibson is far frombeing a bad thing. it just has to be a good era for gibson!!

To be honest I don't notice any difference. I compared my Blackbird's, my 2001 Bird, and my 2013 Gold Bird. They all seem to feel pretty similar to my hands. I don't have one of those tools to measure thickness to be certain about it tho.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]Ive been watching this NR on fleabay. Five string or i would bid on it. Like to see it go to any of you guys(if anybody wants it):

Yah, I saw that. It is an interesting redefinition (4 to 5) of a non-reverse bird - the reversed hs works well extending the B string. It would be better if the bridge pu was a bucker. (would fit the pg better also) Why play a T-bird posing as a Fender P/J?

from the auction:

Good value instrument with great tone, craftsmanship by:
This Epiphone 2009 T-Bird Pro 5 string Bass has many of the qualities of the Gibson model at 1/5 the price. Good electronics, great tone woods, slim neck that makes it very playable. High luster finish and sunburst stain make this a very beautiful piece to look at. The Equalizers and Blend dial allow a rainbow of different tone settings so this is a versatile instrument for many styles of playing. Low action without buzz also adds to playability.

~?~ is this copy for another bass? There only appears to be 3 knobs, chicken-heads at that. (maybe trying to extend the 'bird' analogy…)

Somebody say NR5?
