Nope! acoustic guitars and.... uh,.... er.... .... ...... Edit:After some thought-tortoises!
I used to hate tort when I was a kid. First thing I did to my 72 P was yank and replace the tort guard and stock pickup.
My only justification for that today is that I was 15 and clueless... Sure did some dumb thinks to some awesome instruments that sell for thousands today. Paid 250 for that P-Bass in 79, case pickup/bridge covers and all! Saw one (72 exactly the same as mine) go for 7200 recently...Oh well..
With time I have come to appreciate and even like tort, alot..

I think it's called evolution or something. OMG! Is that a Fartfisa? Holy crap!

Yup. Belonged to the HS band teacher whom I started gigging with at that time. Had to sign a chaperone doc when we played since the drinking age was 18! Good ole days. Davie FLA 1979...
I was playing organ, sax and flute in that group that did the h.s. shows '70-'72. Vox Continental into a wood Leslie mic'ed into my Kasino bass amp.

I think you’re looking at a different pic to the one I’m thinking about. Is there one of the neck showing the joint before the body is assembled? Possibly talking about the neck angle?
I know the one you mean showing the back of the neck after spraying

These three pictures are from the build thread:

Note: The last picture is a screendump with the comment regarding the "neck joint" :)

Doesn't work on Gibby basses
I have tort on one of my Gibbys and it looks right at home, of course it's a Fender shaped Gibby so it seems natural. Of my fifty some odd basses that brings my tort count to three - one 2013EB Gibby, one 1968 Fender P Bass, one Warmoth build. That's just enough to placate the salami vomit gods without infuriating the Wonder Twins (I hope). :D

Semi-digested salami on a bass is always infuriating.
