Going down a Wilko Johnson rabbit hole now...he’s virtually unheard of in the States, but once on a UK tour, Robert Plants FOH engineer, Roy, took me to see him and hipped me to the importance of Wilko, Doctor Feelgood, etc...glad he did! What a unique approach

Dr Feelgood/Wilko were a huge influence on Weller, as can be heard on The Jam's first album.

Bad glue job It IS my "backup" bass. It's not bad for a 7ender. I woulda rather had a black/ebony EB-0, but none were available when I needed a short scale. BTW, it's really a Squier if that helps.

Huh! Never noticed that. It's never been off while I've owned the bass so IDK what's up w/ that. No other drill holes so I'd hafta assume the previous owner did that and I've had her since '73. I guess I'll have to burn it.................NOT!

Here's the thing that's throwing me off though. Wouldn't you see the original whole if it were moved?

I have a '68 that has the original Oly white (naturally aged to a French vanilla color with plenty of checking) and worn through just enough in a few places to see the also original 3TSB finish underneath. Apparently CBS finished a large number of basses in 3TSB and then, if needed to meet a specific order would shoot them again with a black or white finish over the burst. She's a smooth player and one of the few Tort equipped Fenders I have.
