The pickup screws on my Casady kept backing out at gigs until I applied some loctite to the threads.
I always have a multi driver and other tools in my stage bag.

Thanks Duke! I agree. I'm not one to keep gear around just cuz it's gear... even if I had all the money in the world (unless there's a sentimental attachment). Instruments are made for making music. If I have something I'm not using... I feel like it's my responsibility to turn it into something I can use, and/or put it in the hands of someone that will use it:thumbsup:

I've spent maybe 3 hours in Manchester, never been to Liverpool. The Pennines get in the way*.

PS. Manchester-Liverpool is not really The North. The Shandy Line runs from Scarborough to Barrow -- ask any Geordie. Some traditionalists would say anything below the Tees is where everyone is soft, southern and shandy-drinking.


*It's much easier going up and down than it is side to side.

Random observation. I only got my first TBird like 6 months ago (?), bought two more in very short order and haven’t played any of my other basses live since. Even on sessions. I have my Drake drop tuned to C# and used it to record one song, but that’s pretty much it. I agree with Alex Hacke when he said, “since I got my Thunderbird, other basses sound so tiny!” My Drake is a nice exception though. That bass sounds big, but I kinda limited its use by dropping the tuning so low

Going down a Wilko Johnson rabbit hole now...he’s virtually unheard of in the States, but once on a UK tour, Robert Plants FOH engineer, Roy, took me to see him and hipped me to the importance of Wilko, Doctor Feelgood, etc...glad he did! What a unique approach
