Not a fan of Elvis Costello... Bought "My Aim Is True" when it came out, assuming it was something else, since it was released on Stiff Records - Couldn't have been more wrong!!!

Only skipped through it once and had it sitting in my vinyl collection for years, until I finally found someone who wanted to take it off my hands...

Did however like the "Watching the Detectives" single with The Attractions...

Daft story: In my days as a cabinetmaker my workshops were in a coastal heritage centre, they were completely separate from me but my post was delivered there so I went in there once a day. This was back in the mid late 90s but there was a new guy working there and he had been spending quite a lot of time on the internet and the boss was quite concerned about what he was looking at and they had no clue how to check, so they asked me if I could come and help them after he had gone home for the evening. When we looked there was a lot of links with Svetlana in the titles so I announced it was OK he was looking at valves and proudly opened one of the web pages to reveal a Russian porn star :roflmao:

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Placebo, The Stranglers and Pet Shop Boys has released really great B-Sides albums, and I think Depeche Mode has as well.

Yes! Used to like them a lot back in the day and have seen them live 2 or 3 times...

Haven't heard any of the newer stuff after Foxton joined them, though...

In my best Smeagol voice - Kat's a tricksy little hobbit! (Possibly a bit taller with smaller and less hairy feet). ;)

As I noted, translating the Old English (Beowulf) segment would have looked quite different, something like...
Old English -> Rough Translation:
Hwæt. We Gardena in geardagum -> Hell, we have Gardenias in our garden!
þeodcyninga, þrym gefrunon -> Poison them with glyphosate.
hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon -> and be free of them forever!

BTW - I believe Beowulf translates to Gardener, so it all makes perfect sense.

Had a similar thing happen to me in the mid to late 90's when the Internet just stated getting popular. I was working from my home office and my preschool aged daughter was coloring Disney pictures in her coloring book. She ran out of pictures and started to get fidgety so I figured I pull up a Disney picture on the internet and print it for her to color on. Not really thinking much about it, I typed Bambi Image into google. Up popped Bambi alright! OMG - in female human form with both legs in the air pointing different directions. You've never seen a grown man grab the mouse to close the screen so fast in your entire life. :wideyed::jawdrop::nailbiting::eek::facepalm::oops:

Ha! Nightmare!
My last job was systems administrator at a large furniture factory, I had a young assistant who refused to have an autolock on his desktop which left an obvious security risk in the factory as the IT office was accessible from the shop floor. So when he had gone home one evening I opened IE on his PC and set the home page to a Google images search on free porn. He started work earlier than me to make sure everything was working with the factory servers/network so production wasn't held up. Anyway the very next morning when I walked into the office he had a look on his face that said he'd had his arse kicked. Turned out that a young girl who helped with the photo sets needed something from the internet and had gone to the boss (who was a horrible autocratic Tw@t if you'll excuse the language), he took her to see my young assistant who obligingly opened IE to reveal the new home page to the boss and the young girl :roflmao: He locked his PC after that :)
