Plus, his dad Jason, is playing drums on the gig and he happens to be one of my favorite drummers on the planet. The second guitarist on the gig is Austin John, who’s only 25 or so and has that T Bone Walker/Freddie King/Magic Sam thing down cold. I’ve played with that kid before, so there’s some familiarity there at least.



I’m just some dude who owns a bass and had a cancellation on Friday, so I could do it. Me and Jason have seen each other play many times in different bands, so we have a vague idea of what to expect

I haven't taken the existing speakers out yet, so I don't know if they have any identifying marks on them somewhere. I didn't see anything that would tell me much on the magnets, so I'm not expecting much else.

Calculating in my head, which is dangerous, I come up with about 4 cubic feet. The Eminence 8s need a little less than a cubic foot, and the 10 needs a little more. So, that ought to work, just as a start for thinking. Thinking is also dangerous. It leads to this kind of adventure.

Wire it all up parallel and it will be a more or less 8 ohm kinda sorta 410 but not really cabinet. How to take a $10 enclosure and then blow enough to get a decent used cabinet on it, with no guarantee that it will even sound like anything. But it would sure look different on stage.

And, I found a picture of two of the same, or at least similar cabinets.

Sounds like a plan. If I had a clue how to match the TS parameters to the enclosure dimensions. I can figure out the dimensions in no time. It's the TS stuff I know absolutely nothing about. Time for some intardweb research and misinformation adventures.

There wouldn't be room for any of that anyway. It's just wide enough for the 10 at the bottom, and it's about 52" tall. Off the top of my head, the inside dimensions are a little under 12"x12"x about 50". Some of the 12 is taken up by bracing.

Series-parallel will give you 8Ω. Ummmmm crossover ... never mind.

Kinda like an Ampeg 210AV. Is it sealed? I would get a fairly accurate interior volume and contact Eminence to see what they recommend.

No, not sealed. It has a couple of long narrow ports on the back with screens over them. If you stacked two 210AVs, it might be similar, except without an internal baffle.
