Thunderbird Club

Thanks! The P-Bass came with Fender Jazz Humbuckers:

I was not blown away by the tone so they got swapped out for Lollars. THe placement seems about right for P-Bass. I have a Jazz bass (also with Lollar Jazz Pickups) and the neck pick up is closer to the neck than the neck pick up on this P-Bass.

The Thunderbird (2014) has Lollar pickups and a Babicz bridge. I really like the bridge as it is super easy to adjust and very stable.

One word of caution on the Babicz is that the sting anchor area has a sharp edge, which I found out about while doing a windmil and then asubsequent trip to the ER.

Bridge cover!
I never came close to what you did, but certainly have hurt myself on an exposed 3 point bridge.

I just picked up a 1983 Traynor bass cab and the overall outer condition is really nice, I like the used vintage look but I like a nice clean interior.
It’s always good to open it up and clean out whatever may have found it’s way in there as well as tighten any loose fasteners. Did 83 Traynor stuff still have the chrome bumper strips running up the sides?

Holy Shytt!, were you playing a punk gig, or a Who cover?.

It was the last song of the set. All orignal band. There was so much blood on the stage the other band refused to play until someone wiped it up. I had been jumping around alot throughout so my herat rate was up. It was a one time error for me...I wanna have a good time, not lose a finger!

Off to the Chicago gig. View from my hotel room. Definitely been in worse hotels :)

I think I decided to keep only one of my VPs now. I finally received/gutted/Fralin’d/LaBella’d/re-potted a CIJ 62 RI P Bass today, and that is taking over my deep and dark flatwound duties, no question. It has “that” tone. Strangely, I’m preferring my stock ebony VP for pick/roundwound playing over my super thunderous sunburst Thunderbucker one. The stock is kind of smaller sounding and recessed in a nice way, but I’m judging by DI recording. The Thunderbuckers would cause an earthquake on stage, but I’m not in a band.

Well, you need to rectify that situation.:smug:
