Anyone ever try the Emg HZ in a gibson? Wonder how ot stacks up to a TB+? I tried a few actives, i dont feel active pickups and a gibson go together well.

I was wondering about the EMG TBHZ pickups recently and listened to some clips of Schecter Ultra basses and Simon Gallup models loaded with them. I thought they sounded nice and growly. If they sound as gritty as the Geezers P pickup I would be all over that.

I cleaned up my new cab and now Im afraid to let it leave the house. Did that ever happen to you?. Did you ever score a nice vintage piece of equipment and find yourself keeping it at home instead of taking it to the jam space?. I dont need to since I already have a cab at the space but I wanted to, perhaps maybe take it out for live performance's only.

No, man. You Gotta take that out. People who recognize it will go nuts seeing it, people that don't will go nuts hearing it.:thumbsup:

For sure Dude, I will take this out for playing live without hesitation. Funny thing is I dont want to use it at the jam space,I want to use it at home for practice and for admiring:)

Remember when everything made was excessively large, heavy and bullet proof?. My 1977 Traynor Monoblock head weighs 40+ pounds(forged cast iron or something) but check out the interior, overly spacious with tons of room to spare for the electronics to breathe and stretch out. My current Traynor Dynabass 300 weighs like 10 pounds or less and pushes out 75 watts less and it can fit inside this Monoblock casing. Check out the Hammond transformer. Crazy.

I have a couple of older Peavey PA powered mixers. I believe I could drive the Freightliner and 48' trailer I used to drive over it and Maybe scratch the Tolex. Built like a tank and just as heavy. Edit: Then there's my 1970 Kasino Bass amp. It was dropped from waist height onto the corner of a concrete step right by the controls. I figured it was toast. Nope, sounded better! Addendum-pic of the Kasino gouge after dropping-painted over. It's right below the polishing cloth>0615180902-00.jpg

It really is sad why there arent more classic offerings left in the world today. I just chalk it up to being a throw away society. I myself have almost everything Ive ever had. I bought a 94 GMC Sierra in 2000 and its still my daily driver and in nicer shape than its ever been, still a head turner after all these years of surviving in a brutal climate. Because I take care of it.

Do it.... Three 10 " Epifani UL Cab. Schroeder 12 PL cabinet, Schroeder 12-12 Lite cabinet, and 1500 watt Crown XLS amp, with a Demeter HPB1 preamp. Three 10s and three 12s. Don't get no better, and will cut through any gig, period. And all cabs are neo drivers and light weight. Super efficient, and high SPL output. And high power capability. Wake up guys. It ain't that costly to have the best. If you really want it. Just gotta go for it.

Im so old school I cant see straight. I crave the sound of vintage raw power. I love my vehicles old, my favorite genres of music old, my die cast collection old, hockey collectables old, movie collection old and Im even starting to appreciate the older womendrool.

Love it. Looks like the insides of the old GKs. Simple and functional. You'll notice the PCBs were made in house as there is no artwork or reference designators. the extrusion was probably all cut and drilled in house. No farming out any of the sub assemblies. Great times for American electronic manufacturing..
