My big ol sausage fingers barely fit into the openings, I cant imagine how I could put the pots back in when I cant even imagine pulling them out. Nothing scares me when it comes to modding and fabrication but this seems like something I may not try. I would love to find a video showin how its done but the only video I found the guy shows the removal of the pups and replacement but completely skips the pot removal and instalation, totally left out the money shot.Hazard a guess thet the pups are held on metal brackets and the pots can be accessed with some dexterity using long tools through the pup holes and F holes

That's cool as hell!Ever change a pickup on an archtop?, info is vary scarce. The pickup swap is not so boggling but getting to the pots for soldering seems unthinkable. Just picked up this Delta King and noticed the pickups are roughly the same size as my Thunderbird pickup in the picture laying on top of the strings. Dont know if I want to do this but....if I did want to than the question is how?. Closed back with no access to the electronics at all.

Exactly, just the way you described it, cussing and all. That's cool as hell!
I believe the only good option is to drop the jack & pots inside the body, then fish 'em out one of the pup holes. After all the solder work, push everything back through the pup hole and get ready to start cussin' at it and repeatedly asking yourself why you ever chose to get into this f***ing mess as you use whatever tools you can get to reach inside to try to nudge them into the appropriate holes. I'd recommend color coding the pot shafts (or something) so you know what goes where.![]()
@Dadagoboi Do you have any trade secrets that might help this poor bastard out?Whaaaat!!!. In the second video that more applies to what I need to know the guy skips right past two money shots. One at 8:41 and the second at 10:25. I was stressing out watching that delicate process and I wonder if the money shots were left out because the guy got completely irritated and lost his shytt. I would have. But seriously how has he left those parts out?. I believe my modification of this bass is now an afterthought, Im just glad it sounds fantastic already.
That would be a great man to ask, thanks Dude. I feel like when Im watching the delicate process of moving the electronics in and out of the body I feel a sense of anxiety and fear. With that alone Im willing to leave this mod an after thought.@Dadagoboi Do you have any trade secrets that might help this poor bastard out?
Are the existing pups no good? That would be a great man to ask, thanks Dude. I feel like when Im watching the delicate process of moving the electronics in and out of the body I feel a sense of anxiety and fear. With that alone Im willing to leave this mod an after thought.
They sound great, everything is good about the bass but I got that Bird pup there and I have had great experiences with those pups and cant help but think how awesome this bass could be with some Bird dna in it.Are the existing pups no good?
Agreed! 'Bird pups rule! They should be in all non-lame basses IMHO! I wanna Ric with T-bird pups in itThey sound great, everything is good about the bass but I got that Bird pup there and I have had great experiences with those pups and cant help but think how awesome this bass could be with some Bird dna in it.

Dooooooooooood... that sounds AWESOME!!! Too bad the reactor's down or I'd teleport up thereSitting in front of the computer on this fine Saturday afternoon chatting with Jeff and the Fix.. Isnt there a bar patio nearby where we can chat over a frosty beverage or 12?.
