Thunderbird Club

That would be a great man to ask, thanks Dude. I feel like when Im watching the delicate process of moving the electronics in and out of the body I feel a sense of anxiety and fear. With that alone Im willing to leave this mod an after thought.
It not as difficult as it seems. Get some stuff in place before you start:
A well lit surface to work on
String
Some 14 or 12 gauge solid copper wire scraps (12” or so)to make hooks
A small magnet you can tape on another piece of the same wire
Masking tape to protect edges
Patience and time

You CAN do it!

Shouldn't you have a doctor take care of that? :cigar:
:roflmao: You guy's are the fn' best!.

My bestie train buddy is a huge U.P. fan.........I foresee a road trip!

@Dadagoboi Do you have any trade secrets that might help this poor bastard out?

Tie some monofilament to each pot shaft, switch, and jack after removing the mounting nut and pull them out of the body as needed. Do your business and pull the components back where they belong. Variation on a traditional fishtape.

Or you can just pull the components out and THEN use a traditional kind of fishtape, basically a wire threaded through each hole after soldering is done. Which is what I did for these H22s. I posted my work thread in Luthier's Corner. Some guy said I was gonna have trouble getting them back in. First one took 15 minutes, last two took 10 total.

Enter stage left @PillO
No, they were doing on purpose... I will not take that bait.

I was out all afternoon. Burlington has a week-long sound of music festival that wraps up Father's day. My daughter and I always take in some of the acts Saturday and Sunday. The big stages have a combination of can-con up and comers and has-beens - sort of opening acts for stadium acts. Some previously headliners themselves. There are also a number of smaller acts; some serious, some not so serious. They play at designated spots downtown. I have always seen some "interesting" acts there.

So, tomorrow, I will make a point of seeing The Pursuit of Happiness (Moe Berg!)

For those unfamiliar

Today, I discovered a band called Theatre Crisp. They are an interesting act and not for everyone, but I liked it. Rapped lyrics, some sampled stuff, but loud guitars and bass and quite funky. And a mic'ed tap dancer! I thought well enough of them to drop C$10 (approximately US$2.73?) on a cd. Weird - in a good way. I would see these guys in a bar.

I don't but I can tell you how to do it yourself:

Find a large face on photo of a NR, open it up in something like Photoshop, Illustrator or Gimp. Show grids over the photo at 1" and create a new layer of the photo that can be resized. Resize the new layer so that the distance from the leading edge of the nut to the centre of the 12th fret is exactly 17" and save it there, you now have an accurate sized plan of an NR that you can plot to paper using the grids. Hope that makes sense and helps

Thank you!

I’m at a legendary Detroit venue tonight to catch a bunch of friends’ bands. No joke, friends with all three acts including our very own, Bryan(@wolfkeller ) rocking as the headlining act with his awesome band, The Wreking Crüe.

He was gracious enough to give me a backstage tour of Harpos and we chatted a bit. He’s pumped up and he has reason to be!

I would see @wolfkeller and Wrecking Crue if they were appearing somewhere near me. Near me would mean Toronto, Hamilton, Buffalo areas. I will see if I can make it to see @godofthunder59 with his Fleetwood Mac tribute.

Interesting aside - Mac Sabbath is coming to Hamilton in November! That will be a great show.

I think they only put out 1 album. Great mid 80s alt rock type stuff - fun angsty material. And very educated - how many songs can correctly include the word libido?

This place, Harpo’s has gone through some changes through the years and though I haven’t been here in 32 years one thing hasn’t changed... they still have their light up disco floor AND it still works!

I’m guessing it was put in 40 plus years ago.

I’m not sure why they put the lights on but I’m glad a snapped a pic since they turned them off after about a minute.
