BTW, I did snap a 90 degree plug end in half that was plugged into my SVT VR. Was moving cabs around the practice room and managed to hook the cable somehow. Fortunately the SVT was heavy enough it didn't budge, but the 90 degree connector broke in half leaving the end pin stuck inside the SVT input jack. Lesson learned, foot traffic only over cords and cables, no rolling dollys or cabs over cords (not to mention it's darn easy to cut or damage an instrument cord with those wheels).

Also had a guitar friend who swore by curly cables until he stretched one too far. I didn't see it happen but he claimed that the cable was pulled tight enough that it released from the amp and flew back at his guitar leaving a nice dent in a brand new Les Paul. Just goes to prove, nothing is fool proof, there's always a more effective fool ready to test any design to it's limits.

I'd never used wireless until very recently, the place where we've played our last two gigs miked us, they asked me to go out front to see what I thought and came to an abrupt halt when I reached the limit of my cable. The sound guy whipped out a wireless set up for me and it was great, a bit weird being untethered and very strange to be in the firing line of a large PA when I was playing. I think one might well be on the cards soon

yes the rocket, I haven't seen an MLP close up only scoured every photo I could find to find all the details to make one. Turned out they were different for each launch but there isn't a full set of photos for any version from Apollo. There are loads for the shuttle missions but the platforms were modified severely for those.

I've very nearly finished the MLP and I've mad a start on the LUT tower, I've done the main frame of the lower section but will wait for winter before continuing any further, it will give me plenty of time to think how to make the staircases for each level

make sure it fits this! fortunately the Estes motors are still available. Almost got arrested at Rome's Fiumicino airport once for bringing some for a work colleague...damn uptight Italians!..

I used a modified airfix kit at 144 scale otherwise it all gets too big to keep anywhere. I've seen those with the motors, they look like fun

Yeah I think I’m going wireless soon as well. We mix from the stage with my main band. I’m getting an XR18 mixer and it would sure help to be able to go out and check the mix.

Having been the dog with its leg tied over it's head to a tree by the leash (my cable) when too much enthusiasm and not enough planned dance steps happened, I think wireless is the best thing since bass was invented.
