Yeah, great live show. Like you said, great tone and from what seems like all stock gear.
There was a thread a while back about someone acquiring a really trashed one. He was encouraged to restore it to playability.
I’d also be all over that.

LOL no but my dream band would be a Quo covers band, even if I did have to play a bumper. I know we would get a lot more work as a Quo alike, the Banshees are a specialist audience in this day and age

I love that song, I prefer the album version which is identical but without the intro and outro faded out. Another of those Marmite bands. They were at their best about then but anything between Ma Kelly and Blue for you is good for me. After that Rossi started his ego trip and sacked the drummer
A disaster, Coghlan and Lancaster were the real backbone of the band, in Lancaster's own words, once they got rid of John they made bad albums, it started of going a bit country and western and then descended into a steaming pile of "Old man rock" once Lancaster was left out after Live Aid.I saw the old Quo, I don't know how many times, even in the days of punk or when I was in the navy I would always find time to go and see them, the new version of Quo I saw twice, once with my daughter because she wanted to see them for her 16th birthday and the other because the Beach Boys were backing them. It was all a bit Nana Mouskouri plays Motorhead

I went to the second reunion tour too, I missed the first because Dad died a couple of days before the gig we had tickets to, but the second was just incredible, they were just on it, all the old magic was there. On the first reunion Lancaster had been ill for a few years and his hand couldn't hold his pick so he taped it to his hand so he could play; that completely encapsulates rock and roll to me, non of this OOOH MY BASS IS TOO HEAVY shyte!So without further ado, some classics:

Oops, got my memory ill-adjusted... it was Wetton, Jobson on fiddle, and Bozzio on drums. So it was '84, and the headliner was Yes, the 90125 tour.

I love the Quo. Funny when I went looking for that I was thinking that Blue for You was the last album that could be loved unreservedly. Great minds hey?
Saw them in Sydney in 74 & 75, or was that 75 & 76... hmmm probably the latter. My first big OS band concert.
That run of albums hello, Quo, Piledriver, on the level - wow, great times.
I picked up a little later an old album “the most of” Status Quo. I think it must have been the previous record coy trying to gather a few more shackles. It had stuff like Lazy Poker Blues, Matchstick Men, that era. Loved it also.
My daughters wanted me to to the full denim look from the Blue for You cover. Yeah, nah.
75 was the first time I saw them too, in the Blackpool winter gardens, the place got completely wrecked with everybody standing on the backs of the seats bouncing, eventually every seat was broken it must have cost them a fortune to get fixed. In the end they had to do most of their gigs in halls with standing only.
Funny about the denim, I can’t wear a pair of jeans with a denim jacket either, I still wear the same Levi jacket I wore to school back then, it’s falling apart now but I can’t bare to retire it.
Ha! The Hordern Pavillion only had seats around the edges and way up the back. We all had to work our way to the front of course.

Quo was never really big over here..
Bloody guitarists! Juxtaposition to small man syndrome, a a lot of small men are a PITA; it’s the same with guitarists, small instruments so have to play too loud and hog the limelightIt is Watts on the bass but I believe Scott was referring to the guitarist
Ha! We’re going to Liverpool on Friday, we have a hotel booked and a table at EastzEats. We had hoped to have a day in town but now my foot’s buggered we’ll have to stay around the Albert dock so may well have a ride on the Daffodil or to tie that back in a “ferry across the Mersey” in lieu of a walk down Mathew street
