Aside, after boldly stating the other week that Jimmy Lea played with both fingers and a pick, after trawling through video's on youtube I cannot find one. I think I may well have a false memory in my head about that

I could have found a use for it at our last gig to hold my skirt down, it kept riding up mid song and exposing my stocking tops, I was so embarrassed

The French clip is just them faking it, they're using the studio's "prop" guitars, which was pretty common at the time.

Skirt and heels! I just show up with skinny jeans and a nice pair of Van's.
It's a lot of work just organizing all the gear and getting the show going. Hat's off to those who also put on makeup, hair, heels, skirts etc!

I know, previously my dad had a then state of the art stereo system made by Eko or somebody with tiny speakers; while it was way better than my old transistor radio I dutifully listened to radio Caroline and Luxembourg with there was no definition of instruments in any way. It was only when I got that Pioneer system that I first heard the bass guitar in most mixes (other than Entwistle's solo in My Generation).

Hifi, is a weird thing, I think as musicians we should appreciate it more than most but few do strangely. I find it a very useful tool in working out bits and pieces in stuff we play, not that the Banshees were ever doing anything difficult but it does help me a lot

My Dad built us an amp and a tuner from kits, and assembled the speakers also I think.

He was a tech at the PMG/Telecom, the national telephone service. He used to work on new telephone exchanges. Got his electronics ticket at night school after ww2.

Unfortunately we couldn’t work together, there was so much I could have learned. A country boy and could turn his hand to most anything.

These clips were picked for vocal content, nothing more.
Actually the guitar player spends quite a bit of time airborne, has lots of Pete moves and does them convincingly. He is usually bleeding even in rehearsal, I
give him high marks. Our singer is quite mobile onstage, just not in these clip. The drummer is my twin brother he is almost 60 and when this was shot he had only been back behind a kit for 12 months with a 15 year hiatus between bands now he is unbelievable but he doesn't act like a 20 year old Keith that would be unrealistic. We auditioned alot of drummers none could play this stuff, the feel required is like no other material. So I dragged my brother out of retirement.
Our only real goal has been to recreate the sound of a live Who performance. We leave the bad wigs and fake accents to others.

So, twin brother almost sixty, that makes @godofthunder59 just over 58...

You have a twin brother? God help us

Seriously, how do you get on in the band together? I can't have imagined ever being able to work closely with my sister, we were always arguing
