Thunderbird Club

And the English don’t get missed either. How about the old duck complaining about the view?
“That’s Torquay madam, what do you expect to see.? The hanging gardens of Babylon? The Sydney Opera House? ...”

Many digs at British stereotypes - like the deaf old bat who wouldn't turn on her hearing aid because it will wear out the batteries. There was also the Australian tart whom Basil gets caught accidentally groping.

As I understand it, Basil Fawlty is based on an actual hotel owner he met in Torquay. I always enjoy the sign out front of the hotel during the credits; it never seems to say Fawlty Towers.

My fave was Farty Owls

The old bat was the one dissatisfied with the view.

I think it was a master stroke that they stopped when they did. Even though I would have liked to see more of them

I knew that was coming...

For all except my bank account.

I play bass for my own amusement and to disturb the neighbours. My brother and I have noise sessions when schedules permit. I would have trouble fitting a band into my schedule.
So do some of the clubs we(used to)play in.:banghead:

Here is a fun one...

Wednesday as I was driving into Toronto to see Jeff Beck et al, I passed at least a dozen tractor trailers that were branded for the Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium tour sponsored by diet coke and Fuji film (I appreciate it anytime I see good branding). She is/was playing two nights in Toronto. I kept thinking - what could take up a dozen tractor trailers? PA/sound 1, Wardrobe 1, Microphones 1, Instruments 1, Lighting 2, what is in the other 6? Two full of glitter, 2 for rainbows, and 2 for unicorns?
I saw Charlie Daniels many years ago at a venue in Ft. Lauderdale. They had 4 rigs at the time. I talked to a couple of the drivers and asked why that many. The reply was that they had a full stage set-up including lights and monstrous PA for out door gigs. That was in the 80s. EDIT: In case I wasn't clear, by stage set-up I mean scaffolding, floors, bigass speaker stands, etc. for the gear of that time period. Probly would take 6-8 rigs now.

Hey, leave us short arses alone :roflmao:
You can't be short, you don't suffer from "short man syndrome" :roflmao: I laugh but it is true have you noticed? OK so not every short person is affected but quite often short people tend to be quite unpleasant, maybe it's a British short person trait? I would say English but I've met a couple of Welsh ones too, must be half breeds! :roflmao:

5’7” (almost), half a bees dick shy of 170cm. But built like a brick shithouse in my youth. Treated like a big guy so no syndrome, prob because I mostly played as a forward in RL and could dump most of the others on their back in defence.
(Plus Irish temper at times (in footy))

5'7" isn't short! You'd be a giant in short man syndrome world :roflmao: 5'5" and less

Matt LaBlanc, Selema Gomez and the rest of her “posse” are probably stored in there between concerts.

Wow!, that’d make it a tough choice right there. Although I believe the 50T will sound bigger and fatter. Can’t say for certain....
The Berg322 plays well with just about every amp. Some SS amps that would be particularly good to consider would be Eden, Carvin and Ashdown. The Fender/Sunn tube amp would be interesting as would the Aggie DB750.

That DB750 is a monster.
And interesting you mention Ashdown. Not a lot of love for them. I had a UK version of the EVO 500 watt which I personally loved the tone of. Couldn’t really get on with Eden. And I’d have no problem With the Fender/Sunn tube rigs. But i’d still be in overkill mode with any of those.

The TalkBass rules clearly state that it's ok to bash each other to the point of suicide, so long as you don't use "dirty" words when ya do it:meh:

<edit>

Hi everybody. I'm back from my date with the stomach flu. Hope I didn't miss anything good...

Well... I'm sure at least one of them must be full of ex-boyfriends in case she gets the urge to write some new material while she's on the road...
