Me too, even with spraying outside and a mask I can still feel it at the back of my throat 3 hours later but oh when I feel the back of that neck I remember why I love the stuff so much

It’s much more pleasant (and to me easier to work with) than the modern finishes. That said I mostly use Tung Oil these days.

I know, I used to have a spray booth, well I say a spraybooth, it was a few sheets of plywood and a fan that would power a sailing ship. Some things I like oiled and some sprayed. I'm not a fan of acrylics or Polyurethanes on guitars, they have a feel I don't like but that's just me. Oiling can be a great finish, one of the best when it's done well and it can be bomb proof too. I just love nitro on guitars, it's a silly thing of mine

When I need a fix, I get out the Bird. There’s something about that smell when you first open the case.

It wasn’t until Argybargy that they got much play here. I preferred the earlier couple of albums. Pretty much overshadowed in those days by the Clash, the Pretenders, Blondie, Elvis Costello and some guy they called the Boss. Good band though.

Squeeze went under the name ‘UK Squeeze’ in Australia. Certainly they did for ‘Cool for Cats’ which was very popular.

This is also a great example of what the Fixer was talking about. This band and their music was aimed straight at 12 year old girls. And yet, despite the fact that I was never a 12 year old girl, I love this song. It's a nearly perfect catchy pop song. I generally hate catchy pop songs. But I will listen to this over and over, and don't care what anyone thinks.

Wednesday as I was driving into Toronto to see Jeff Beck et al, I passed at least a dozen tractor trailers that were branded for the Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium tour sponsored by diet coke and Fuji film (I appreciate it anytime I see good branding). She is/was playing two nights in Toronto. I kept thinking - what could take up a dozen tractor trailers? PA/sound 1, Wardrobe 1, Microphones 1, Instruments 1, Lighting 2, what is in the other 6? Two full of glitter, 2 for rainbows, and 2 for unicorns?

Ego. That's at least two semis worth.

Massive dust storm rolls through Arizona

I grew up with these in El Paso. When I was in the first 2-3 grades, if one came in during recess, a few of us would go to the (hurricane) fence closest to the storm and wait for it. The only rules were you kept yelling (you can't see anything in one, and you do NOT want your eyes open!) til it knocked you down, and you couldn't hold on to anything. Last kid standing won. If it hit hard enough, you could get into a ball as you fell and it would roll you across the playground like a ponderous tumbleweed until you hit something. We always got extra recess time because it took *forever* to get all the sand out of your clothes. It was still in various orifices and hair until you got home and bathed.

I lived on the east side, literally on the edge of the desert. Watching those monsters come in was phenomenal.

Once we had a thunderstorm right behind a sandstorm. The interface area was- you guessed it- a mudstorm. So weird.

I don't think the Squeeze or Boomtown Rats were ever huge, but they definitely had airplay and a following. Undertones are new to me.
