I saw WA in 1973, Hardrock Quarry outside of Akron NY, still got my ticket! My stub is the blue one on the right, I found d the left side on Ebay a few years ago. Amazing!

Ive purchased many MOJO mags over the years with the included CD related to topics in that issue and one dealt with metal bands from the late 60's-70's. (Led Zep were the front cover featured band) They included many other British bands I'd never heard of that were part of that genre's introduction. Out of every movement in music there were the bands that didn't get the same exposure in the US as in the UK, especially if you lived in the mid-west. The west and east coast were likely to get more airplay of what was sent over. Even less was aired from Canada (other than Rush and a couple others) and back then I would stumble on cool obscure Canadian bands leafing through the 'cut-out' bins. Like this one -

I haven't seen the Jaco documentary yet. I really enjoy Trujillo's work with Infectious Grooves.

I note that Metallica, being the rhythm guitar player/singer and drummer's band, they push up rhythm guitar and drums in the mix (to the detriment to other parts). Even so, they choose great bass players (then push them back in the mix and have them play mundane parts). Both Newstead and Trujillo are great players and in other projects really shine.

I don’t get why people have to be like that.
Just this morning, someone asked if it was worth experimenting with capacitor values in his bass and right away someone posts “this has been covered - search it”
Why not just answer the feckin question?

Yes watch that Jaco doc!
Your explanation of the Metallica mix makes sense. I’ve never really heard the bass in any of their music, so it’s never attracted me.
