I usually stand on the next-to-the-high-hat side and leading my own band I stand in a more central spot. As long as you have good monitors I guess you can stand anywhere.

Being able to see the drummer and the neck at the same time is kinda nice. I stand to the right of the skin beater..

I've had a mishap happen at least once with my headstock and a ceiling fan I forgot was on.
I've accidentally hit people in the head with it too, these instruments need a warning label.

I play on the right so I can bash the singer I've got myself (headstock) caught up in her skirt once, she wasn't pleased with me, it was in a pub so it went unnoticed thankfully

I bopped the singer in the back of the head......he sang in key afterwards...
