One Bad Pig had a song called, "Smash the Guitar!" during which they smashed a guitar. But they weren't making much money, so they'd buy the cheapest pawn shop crap guitars they could find just for the show.

Not while playing. I once found an acoustic by the curb with a big, extra hole through the soundboard. A friend and I staged an El Kabong chase around my apartment building (stairs, big central courtyard where everyone hung ou, jumping off balconies, etc.). Eventually I went to my third floor apartment, and as he ran below, I threw it onto the sidewalk by him, screaming "Ellll Kaboooonnngggg!!!" It made a delightful noise, with pieces flying everywhere.

Again, depends whose Fender. If Clapton or Townsend played it modded, nope. Now if I mod Clapton's guitar, I lose value.
