Thunderbird Club

Playing the complete opposite of the venue we played last night

This picture makes it look much nicer than it is. Tour manager said “it beats a night off,” but I’m not so sure. Then again, I’ve had all kinds of fun in dumps like this :)
I'm assuming you'll be using the Bird. Not much room there for the dog house, especially considering that your guitarist likes to move around a bit. But it does look like fun.

It was :)

I usually play both basses before the night is over

I see you're keeping the band tips bucket at the back :roflmao:

Speaking Firebirds...
here is a Maton Fyrbyd Bass from Ye olden days

And here is the guitar it came from... note the version on the cover of the book... the “Sharkbite” version.

Me thinks I’d like a bass built from that Sharkbite template. At least one guy has had one built / modded including the badge on the top horn (changed the name there, from dim and fading memory)
Hey! You're back with us, can't keep a good man down! :)

How can you tell which circuitry? Is it a silver face / black face thing?

Good to hear from you! Hope all's well.
Thanks for that pic. Those Matons have definitely aroused my interest, never heard of them until this club.
Love to try one.

As I'm still laid up with my foot I'm trying to pass the time as best I can. Anyway I came across this old vid from 77 of the the Damned who we gigged with a few times. It shows very much what shows were like then for us in the UK. Of note is Dave V the singer sliding on the stage, it was spit he was sliding on, one of my most imprtant bits of kit at the time was a wet towel :roflmao: Thankfully times change :)

Yeah the spitting was a gross part of early punk shows. I didn’t catch much of it as we didn’t get on stages until 82 or so.

Not me, from your side? It is possible I've heard of them but it's not ringing any bells, my brain is ageing :(
They were from Kalamazoo (just down the road a piece). They survived the mid-80s through the early '90s. They got to be a pretty big deal. Toured U.S. pretty thoroughly, but made it across the pond twice that I'm aware of. I've been surprised a few times by folks from all around, who are familiar with 'em.
