Thunderbird Club

Fellow Thunderbirders: If I fail to quickly respond to anything directed my way, I'm in the early stages of prep for tomorrow's colonoscopy so I may be otherwise occupied.:help::sorry:

Party times!

Been there, and will be there again soon enough!

Yep, gonna go out on a limb here and make a prediction..
Nearly all the "old guard" (pre grunge) Rock n Roll Band greats will pass away in the next 10 to 20 years.

Hmmmm. All in their 60s-70s. You like the safe bets.

This is why I am seeing them now; gotta see them before they die. Really glad I saw SRV in `89 on what turned out to be his farewell tour.

You have my sympathy. The prep makes you feel crappy. OK, bad pun.

Amusing story - I had a colonoscopy two years ago (routine screening) and scheduled it for first thing in the morning (7am). I wouldn't ask anyone for a ride at that time of day, and because of the sedation, you can't drive yourself. So, I hired a limosine to take me to and from the hospital.

Pancreatic cancer is a terrible way to go. From diagnosis to death is typically about 6 months and really quite unpleasant.

I had a friend who died from pancreatic cancer. Upon diagnosis, he applied for several credit cards and of course ticked the box for the insurance that would pay the balance in the event of death. Then leased a nice car and drove across the country to say goodbye to all his friends. At the end of the trip, he was too sick to make the drive back, so he parked the car at the airport, flew home, turned the keys over to the dealer and told them where their car was. When told that he couldn't do that, he told them to sue him. He died about 2 weeks later.

At least this time I don't have to drink that vile liquid. They're having me drink a mix of Gatorade and Miralax. Not tasty but not as bad.:spit:

Maybe have an extra roll of T.P. nearby. If you have a smart phone now is a dandy time to upload the Talkbass app :woot:

I'm off to trim the Poodle, it's girl's night out for bad karaoke.

How ya feel?

Pretty good actually. Last night my first at home in our own bed. No problems, even sleeping more upright to take the stress off the cut.
I’m a bit forgetful atm though. Maybe some of the anaesthetic still to wear off.

In the back of my mind I’m thinking that I feel better in myself now than I did before.

Thyroid has gone off to pathology for testing. Evidently it was in a bad state.

Yeah, not my first rodeo. Can hardly wait('til it's over)
I started to wake up the first time that happened to me. It was a very strange experience. Oddly enough, I remember it, too. I was still completely numb, so that wasn't a problem, but being surrounded by these somewhat unforgiving looking, large women was a bizarre thing to wake up to.

Actually, the youngest pre grunge gang would have been in their 20's in the 1980's, which means nearly all of them will be 70+ years old 20 years from now, with some in their 80's and even 90's. F course this prediction does not apply to Kieth Richards, who has somehow found the perfect mix of drugs, alcohol and lifestyle needed to keep a person alive forever (although they might not look very alive)...

Coulda been worse, you weren't surrounded by cold, half eaten fried chicken with your undies around your ankles. :woot:
