Thunderbird Club

That's the best description yet.
Last summer as fire was nearing my sister’s cabin at Sheridan Lake the firefighters rolled in with pumps, hoses, and sprinklers to wet everything down. (Of course that only works if you’re beside a lake)
As I understand it, the wind shifted just before the fire hit the first property about 1K away.

Never seen one of those, probably never made it over here to Marshall land. They don't seem to be popular or didn't shall we say but then knowing the sheep out in the GP....
60's Solid State Bassman
Yeah... if memory serves... those solid state models were CBS's way of letting the world know that they were holdin' the reigns at 7ender now, and that they were doing away with Fender's antiquated engineering & designs, and "moving into the future" with the latest & greatest thing... solid state! They flopped faster than they could build 'em! I've been lead to believe the amps suck. I've never heard commentary on the cabs alone. Still a rare and cool piece of music history:thumbsup:

I see you're keeping the band tips bucket at the back :roflmao:

Ha! That was ‘soundcheck.’ During the gig, the tip bucket made an appearance. It’s sort of a gag the singer does. It often gets filled up too, which helps out a lot on these small fill in gigs.

Some of it might be. Seattle isn't on fire, just blanketed with smoke from just about everywhere else. If you get cancelled in Redding, head north after Portland or before or whenever. Worst case, you could probably find a way to at least pay for gas money by playing somewhere. And, if it happened like that, I might actually be able to show up! That would be a bonus (for me) and maybe not such a bonus for the band (one less exotic Seattle hippy groupie in the place).

My heart goes out to all the folks who have been hit by these fires. Terrible thing. Once we start heading south out of Portland, we’re in the home stretch, so worst case we’ll take a night off. Wouldn’t break my heart :)

Listened to some Aretha first thing this morning in the van...what a force of nature she was

It says a lot when firefighters get killed in bush fires, they must be moving at a hell of a rate
Is there a list somewhere of how they died? In Cali, one died when his bulldozer rolled over. I know up around Redding, it's mountains and serious hills. Every city out there should have a big firebreak around it.

Jeez, it's been a rough couple of years for musicians passing - I guess it's the boomer demographic.
Got a gig coming up with my cover band next week - we'll have to make sure to put an Aretha song in our set list.
Yep, gonna go out on a limb here and make a prediction..
Nearly all the "old guard" (pre grunge) Rock n Roll Band greats will pass away in the next 10 to 20 years.
