Thunderbird Club

The Vintage Pro headstock is pretty large. I haven’t clocked anybody with it yet, but some of our rehearsals get crowded when there are 3 horns. It’s only a matter of time:rolleyes:
But they are thin and frail...BaCH went out of his way to ensure a multipurpose headstock

I remember some snazzy outfits playing Martini hour at The Breakers or Cafe Epicurean and places like that in PB. Is that all gone? I would imagine PB would have a really lucrative private party circuit as well..
Yes. And one band leader has all of that sewn up. Can't recall his name, but no matter what size group he books it's a "Joe Smith" orchestra.

ever play with him? put your sideman/journeyman hat on..
No. I talked to him once-did an audition, reading charts(both chord and notes), faking, etc. He has a beard but sidemen Must be clean shaven and not long haired. I had a steady at the time and was just looking for some extra work. There were No guarantees he'd use me so I passed.

sounds like your typical prick bandleader..

Thank you all!
I've had a few days off from work to play that show on Friday and spend Saturday afternoon with my family. We got together at brother's place in downtown Seattle for some wonderful German food and quiet time, which I really enjoy. I'm 60 this year, never, ever thought I'd be this old! Love the time I spend with my family more than anything.

Feels cooler on the water, so I am out the door in about 10 minutes to go paddling.
Strangely, I have managed perfect timing today.

I knew thunderstorms were forecast, so I tried to time things appropriately (I never want to be the tallest thing on the lake during a thunderstorm).
I pulled the kayak out of the water as dark clouds came over.
I had started unloading as I heard the first clap of thunder.
Everything was put away when the rain started. Within minutes, it was torrential.

Can't believe I timed it so well. Probably should have bought a lottery ticket instead though...

@TBird1958. I wish you a very special Happy Birthday today.
And as CB said, really good to know you even if it is the Webz.
Although, I’m hoping one day we’ll meet.

Rock on!!!

Thank you Jeff!
Somehow I too have the feeling we'll meet someday.
