BTW - I was playing out with the guys the other day in a garage jam session wearing my casual shoes of choice (GOlukai slip on loafers, very comfortable, highly recommend them if you have wide feet)...

When our guitar player showed up in a pair of these...

He likes em, says they're comfortable and I guess hipster kinda stylish if you're into that scene.
Obviously his feet aren't that long. I didn't ask him, because I didn't want to put him on the spot, but it seems like they'd be tricky to get around in with all those extra inches of toe length. Anyone here into the long shoe? Any advantage or is it just a style thing?

More chances for me to trip or catch something and send it flying.

Dang! Who's standing between you and the bass?..:smug:

so how do these epiphone thunderbirds sound with flats?
I have tapes on my Eppi Goth and it sounds fantastic. And I had EB Cobalt flats on my Eppi VP which sound phenomenal. Don't be afraid to try different strings on the Bird, it's a very dynamic bass and responds completely different with different strings. I have P basses and Jazz basses that obviously sound different with different strings but not nearly as much a difference as I notice with my TBirds.

For the longest time I was all about boxy skate shoes. Then this past year I bought a pair of Vans and Chucks... then when Nike was having a huge sale I bought two different pairs of Chucks with better soles... haven’t looked back

Agreed. I have LaBella Black tapewounds on my Goth Bird and I love the sound!
