Now That's a 'band'wagon! It will be, especially since it’s plywood with a veneer. Probably gonna get it smooth then use some kinda filler.

I replaced a bassist who used to strap/tie down his UB to the luggage rack on a Tr3. 'til it let go on I-95 in Miami. That's what I need to haul the upright! Now if I could just get an electric conversion...we have the highest gas prices on the continent here.

I used to strap my amp and guitar onto the luggage rack/sissy bar of my Yamaha XS650. I'd wrap it in a vinyl top table cloth to keep them safe from rain, bugs, stones, etc. Once when it was drizzling, I got pulled over because my tail light and license plate were covered by the tablecloth coming loose. When the (Atlanta) cop saw what was up, he put his ticket book away and helped me strap everything on better. Great guy.

The cop knew a true rocker when he saw one.

Oh, the humanity! How can anybody live without a derelict bulldozer as a yard ornament? It’s actually no longer on the property...
My next door neighbor sometimes parks his crane in front of his house. Does that qualify?Oh, the humanity! How can anybody live without a derelict bulldozer as a yard ornament?
My first car was a TR-2. Same thing, really. I never, ever carried anything in it. Partly due to size, partly because a roadster with a top that blows off at any speed doesn't provide much weather protection in a place like central Ohio. Blizzards, hail storms, downpours - all top down weather. Not good for musical instrument hauling. That was reserved for a station wagon with the fake wood on the side.I replaced a bassist who used to strap/tie down his UB to the luggage rack on a Tr3. 'til it let go on I-95 in Miami.![]()
It was not destroyed but it didn't do it a helluva lotta good.Poor bass.![]()
I drove yellow ones in New York in the early 1980s. Those had to have been the worst cars ever made, and taxi duty made them worse. They could hit 80 mph between red lights on occasion on Park Avenue, though. Being 22 meant doing stuff like that, especially when racing to a potential fare.
Once saw a sofa come flying of a pickup on I-95 in Hallandale...I replaced a bassist who used to strap/tie down his UB to the luggage rack on a Tr3. 'til it let go on I-95 in Miami.![]()
Y'ever notice all the mattresses and box springs on the side of the road? People tie them on with twineOnce saw a sofa come flying of a pickup on I-95 in Hallandale...
and wonder why they fly off-doing 70, which is 4 mph less than a cat 1 hurricane.
