I wonder if the Lulls and Cagaldos play and sound like Gibsons. I would love to try them.Yeah, that's a not so much kind of price. If you add up the purchase prices over the years, all five Gibsons I currently own come in right about there. That may be cheating on my part, because it includes the EB-2 (a whopping $0.08 when it's all said and done), and the 2013 EB that was $500. The three 'Birds were $800 to $1200 each, or so. I don't remember now. So, it's close.

It’s an original Jazz Bass Special (84-87).
Somebody put a lot of miles on it and then it apparently sat in a basement for years, but it’s a very nice playing bass.

How can you tell when it was built? I bought mine last November around the middle of the month, would be neat to find the actual build date.I really like my Vintage Pro! It was built in Nov 17. Someone here had a newer one that was noticeably thicker and heavier, so that may be something to watch out for.
I googled the serial# and found the date + that it was made in Indonesia. Don’t think I had the foresight to bookmark the page thoughHow can you tell when it was built? I bought mine last November around the middle of the month, would be neat to find the actual build date.

I like Thunderbuckers better and the new Epiphone Vintage Pro Thunderbird pickups over Lull. The cost of quality sound/tone.
Yeah, um. They sound really good.![]()
The cost of quality sound/tone.
Mine was in rough shape and the seller was moving, so I only paid $160 for it. Pearl white is not a colour I would pick, but it’s a very nice playing and sounding bass - a keeper. These 80's MIJ Fenders are really nice basses - underrated to those who play them. (and thankfully so as they are still very affordable)
I really dig my 66s. Be interesting to see manufacturer's frequency sweep data on both brands..I like Thunderbuckers better and the new Epiphone Vintage Pro Thunderbird pickups over Lull.

Don't get me wrong, no denying that for sure.
