Thunderbird Club

I was Thunderbird deficient, meaning only a fretless one. I'm now waiting for a 1991 to arrive, thanks to TB classified ads and the sale of a Ric. Not having a fretted Thunderbird was about a four year long mistake that's being fixed.

You can never have too many Thunderbirds! :)

Agreed and on that note (hope I'm not jinxing myself by speaking too soon!) I may soon be the proud owner of an Alpine White Epi Pro IV! Co-worker of mine just bought/picked it up from GC last week and
knows my desire for another TBird (he sold me my first one!). He also has a 5 string TBird on the way and said he didn't need two, he's constantly buying/flipping guitars and basses, so I'll get the benefit
of his latest acquisition!

My '94 Thunderbird! It's possibly the most resonant bass I have ever played. Definitely want to chrome-ify it and make it look more like a vintage bird, but for now, this thing flat out rocks!

Did you have TBird pups on the fretless?
No. It has Lace Alumatone Bass Bars. It's pretty unique at this point, and its wiring is an ongoing project that I keep changing. I love it!

I have to see if the original pickups and preamp are still around and send 'em down to DonovanJM. Time keeps getting by without me digging through the git-box parts drawer.

"As for your original question, the Thunderbird series by Epiphone is the dumbest looking bass I've ever laid eyes on. I'm sure it has its qualities, but to me nothing says d:spit:bag punk better than the Epiphone Thunderbird.

Flying V basses are an extremely close second."

Man, that seems a little harsh...

(From the Basses you wouldn't own because of aesthetics thread)

Well, we're all entitled to our opinions. I choose to keep mine to myself. (Most of the time...)

Yeah, or live by the mantra: If you got nothing nice to say, keep quiet... There's just no need to piss off other people or hurt their feelings unnecessarily.... ;)

The guy is playing a 6 string bass in his profile picture and is commenting on a thread designed for negativity.

I know I get more work using a thunderbird than I ever would playing a 6 string bass.
