Thunderbird Club

Heck with Nightrider. Lookee what the Dodge boyz just served up...
1,000 hp Dodge 'Hellephant' V8 is ready to resurrect your classic car

@Dr_Feelgoood212 is probably selling everything he owns (except his Thunderbirds) to get his hands on that crate motor! Come to think of it, @NOLA Bass has a Dingwall Bird that would look perfect with this Charger.
Probably cheaper to build one.
If we keep the 67 charger for a while, a new Hellcat type engine is definitely a possibility though.

Best day of the year @ the Rock pile.

Double secret off topic. Seeing as you are the lighting maven, what would you recommend for resessed fixtures with a 60 watt max? My kitchen feels like a super villain lair and my attempts at fluorescent bulbs results in Berlin Wall spotlight brightness.
Looking for a nice glow without burning out my rods and cones.
And: Happy Halloween!

Just got the Vintage Pro in, and did a (very short) test run with one of my amps, and the outlook is great! It wasn't loud enough to know if boominess will be a problem in a band setting, but it had some great bite to it through my Orange OB1. No build issues that I can see so far, and it plays really fast with great action. Plus, the black matches my SG/EB3 bass, though I'm tempted to replace the white pickguard with a black one. Because I'm sad, or something.

I guys checking in real quick. So far I've had a crazy busy year, Spent seven or eight months working 10-12 hour a day six days a week. Now Im working two straight weeks 12 hours a day in a Nuclear energy plant. Haven't been able to play a lick lol. Things should be slowing down for the winter or for at least a couple months. Oh btw for those who remember Ol Blu, I did finally get her back with Gibson pups with nickel covers, she looks real nice. Also recently found a Cardnal Red Epi bird on craigs list that I picked up for less than the price of a new case and yes she came with a practically new case, she's impeccable. I don't think she ever was played so its like new.
Cool! I’m not familiar with Ol Blu. Please post pics....when you can

Um I’m pretty sure @Band Mom needs to post a pic or two of the black EB3 (or SG) with the black VP!

As requested! It's a bad night to have a 5-year-old who wants to go do Halloween stuff while I've got different priorities :)

My OCD is practically begging me to slap that pickguard off, though.

It’s a Gibson Nikki Sixx Signature Blackbird. There is a thread on it right now. I’d like to do some upgrades starting with an adjustable brass nut and pickups. Maybe rewire the switch from on/off to neck/bridge. I need some pick up suggestions. Like I said in the thread she’s been very well played, not a showpiece. Total player so I don’t mind modding it. I have Ernie ball extra slinky 95 to 45 with super low action. A bit buzzy but I like a low action/low tension feel. I’ll probably stick with these or maybe try some dr hi beams. I’m a bass player turned guitarist reverting back to bass with a whole new perspective. Having a lot of fun again.

I have some thoughts for you, PM me and we might have to talk on the phone - It's easier than typing.

I love that your "day job" is drenched in lights! :) :bassist:

I have to say that I really do enjoy lighting, it's an interesting business to be involved with, a bit technical and creative, I really enjoy designing a home's lighting, truly one of the best aspects of my job.

I would, but unfortunately the Epi Pro is going back today, as I discovered cracks in the neck near the headstock (frowny face). I've heard that the Epi 'Birds are somewhat susceptible to this (I heard this from a GC employee, so I don't know the veracity of that claim), but I've got a Vintage Pro coming in today so I won't be TB-less for long.

Assuming everything checks out on the new bass, I'll be sure to come back here and post something.
Ooooookaaay
