Thunderbird Club

All I knew was that it was something people said, having never owned a Ford. Back then ones dad was either a Chevy owner or a Ford owner (or Dodge etc). My father owned a '57 Chevy and '62 Pontiac, both wagons and a 70's Chevy sedan.

At that time my favorite race car was this one - Chaparral Cars - Wikipedia
Those 2F’s were spaceship looking things. Always liked them.

Double digit fuel mileage?! :eek::eek::eek:

The Dodge Hellcats make 707hp and 21 mpg.... now THAT’S a car!
Oh and it weighs more than my Satellite!
Yeah but it handles like a tractor...the Camaro ZL-1 with 640HP smoked/s it on the track...
at the end of the day, to get that kinda horsepower on the ground you need more weight and your horsepower to weight ratio starts to suffer past diminishing returns.. :(:(..

And let's not forget that Teslas smoke all the best sports cars from around the world in straight line racing.

on a more bass related topic..:D..
does anyone have any experience with this 7ender amp? In my years of playing I've never heard of, or seen one of these..

I dunno, I haven’t seen a stock ZL-1 make a 10 second pass.

I saw Chaparrals a couple times at Mid Ohio when I was a kid. I saw the vacuum cleaner car, and I think it was a 2H with transparent panels in the sides so you could see the driver working. And those guys were working in there. It looks smooth, but it sure isn't up close. It was a pretty amazing time to be paying attention to SCCA racing.

Heck with Nightrider. Lookee what the Dodge boyz just served up...
1,000 hp Dodge 'Hellephant' V8 is ready to resurrect your classic car

@Dr_Feelgoood212 is probably selling everything he owns (except his Thunderbirds) to get his hands on that crate motor! Come to think of it, @NOLA Bass has a Dingwall Bird that would look perfect with this Charger.

Thought that’d be a Hemiphant.

BTW. Chrysler Aust had Hemi 6s. Think they were not technically hemispheric and it was more a marketing term. Whatever they were they were a little different and probably the best of the Aust market 6s of the day. They came in 245 & 265 ci versions. Google the Valiant Charger RT 38 & RT 49 . Talk about ‘hot sixes’.

Finally got to play one of the new Epiphone Vintage Pro Thunderbirds today. Not sure I like the new p'ups as much as the the Gibson TB plus but it still sounded great. Build quality blew me away especially at this price point. The frets were pretty well dressed but could use a little polish. The blackwood Tek fretboard looked much better than I expected. If not for the tighter grain I would have though it was rosewood. The setup from the factory was pretty poor though. The relief was set pretty well but the action was super high. There feels like a lot of tension on the factory strings too. So what color to get??? I've never owned a black bass and they sure look sweet with all that shiny nickle. The white is pretty sexy too. Then there's the burst... AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!

So brunette, blonde or ginger???? What say the hive?

I have not been to a Long Wongs in ages but it used to be good. The Mill Ave. location was where the Gin Blossoms and The Refreshments used to play all the time. Was a great place to hang out. Seems to be where the "Tempe sound" was created.
