Thunderbird Club

I’ve been wanting chrome PUP covers for this baby every since I started modding it.
But I’m too cheap to change to some expensive PUP’s, especially since I like the way these sound.

So unless someone have a not so expensive remedy, I guess I’m done.
Besides, I think it looks pretty darn good with the black.

It looks great, but you are right, more chrome! What about ashtrays? A bridge cover and matching pickup cover might work perfectly, and then the black pickups wouldn't matter much at all.

Interesting. Which system?

I have debated this with colleagues. The laws of thermodynamics do not change simply because it is a living system, so for weight loss, calories expended have to exceed calories consumed. But there are benefits to fasting for 12+ hours on a number of biomarkers of disease. It is not clear yet that changing the indicators through intermittent fasting actually changes disease risk; and it will take decades to gather and then analyze/understand the data. But it is interesting.
I took a easy route and only eat one meal @ night low carb kinda keto, lots of fats, avocado, real butter, animal fats, sour cream, some vegetables. Then I don’t eat again until the following night. I’ll drink a protein shake at work if I need to but lots of water. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight in just over a month but I’m not doing it for any particular reason, just trying to get to a healthy weight.

I couldn’t quite get away from the tilt factor but the lower it hangs the better. No pun intended!

Yeah I’ll need a longer strap it already hangs so high.

As I recall, the strap button placement on a Dingwall 'Bird is unusual and seems to work really well. There's at least one of those in the club, and I would expect that you can find a picture of the back of one somewhere on the internet. It's an interesting take on button placement. There's also a few people who run the strap over the top of the bottom bout instead of behind it. That probably wouldn't shorten the reach though.

So where is the ding wall location of the pin? Yes over the top but towards the front could help. I was playing with that idea as well. Would have to make it somehow decorative to compensate.

I almost located the forward strap pin to the top horn but decided against it.

Yeah, just played the Paradise Grill a couple of weeks ago. Capitola rules! Funny you mention Pergolesi! I found a 20 year old mug from them in my garage just the other day!!!
I used to leave Watsonville @ 6:20 every morning so I would miss an hour of traffic and I’d go hang in the village, get some coffee @ Zelda’s and then sit by the jetti and watch my buddies surf. It would take me no more than 10 minutes to get to work in S.C. from Tola.

These are the Dingwall locations using recessed Dunlop Straploks. Not only does it minimize the tilt, but it also brings the first position closer to you. I think it works great.

This post may be lengthy but.... you could take a old guitar strap and cut the leather/pleather part off, then find a old windbreaker jacket or something with the adjustable nylon cord around the waist @ the bottom of the jacket. Take the said strap part and put two holes in it next to where the strap used to be, loop the cord thru the old strap piece put knots then use the plastic nylon cord adjuster to put thru your good strap hole and attach the newly fabricated old strap part to your top strap pin and battabing your golden! The picture is for illustration purposes only but hopefully you can understand where I’m going with this.

Agreed. But that's my question. Any idea where I can get some chrome PUP covers?

How about shiny pup rings?

Where can I get some rings for a Epi Bird IV?

You can't unless you make them yourself. Those pickups are sized in between 35 and 40 series.

Yep this is what I did before my last gig and it worked for me, besides sewing some faux lambs wool onto the part of my strap that hangs on my shoulder(reduced neck dive!). I hung my Bird like I was gonna play it and placed the strap to the bottom of my bass where it would best hang then marked the spot. Edit because spell check is killing me!
Spell check doesn't like 'neckdive' or 'pickguard'. I type 'em anyway and to hell w/ it.
