That term/word, certainly does not apply to me. My friend and i had a bunch of laughs when we noticed that was there on the ticket.

I have considered wireless (and continue to do so). At current prices I am hesitant - L&M tells me that the very inexpensive ones have latency and frequency response challenges - at some point price and performance will likely line up for me.

It sounds like the hive mind here echoes my thoughts on cables. Specifically that the cheapest may not be great, but there is no reason for the expensive ones either.

Rotten Kid - I actually have a Pig Hog cable saved to a cart on their website. I would say that great minds think alike, but I fear that it is fools seldom differ.

I’ve gone wireless with the Line6 G30. About $200. Works great for home use. I dont notice any latency. I use a Mogami 18” angled cable from the bass to the transmitter which is in a Neotech case. I use basic Pig Hog cables ( (they are frequently 2 for 1 on Musician’s Friend flash sales)
from the receiver to a tuner pedal and another from the pedal to the amp. I’m actually getting at least one more set or at least another receiver because I’m lazy and don’t like moving the setup between amps that are in different rooms. Once you go wireless, you’ll never go back.

I am very glad that the US midterm elections are on Tuesday. I am sick of seeing the political ads on US TV. I can't tell who belongs to what party, and I don't care. I just find all the politicians in the ads loathsome.

Anyone have thoughts on instrument cables?

The music room in the basement, although not complete , is functional. And now, the 10' 7ender cable I was using, which was just long enough, is no longer long enough. I'm thinking that 15' would be adequate, but for future-proofing, probably 20-25' is about right. While I understand the current value of copper, I see no reason to pay a lot for a cable. On the other side, you often get what you pay for. So there is probably an optimization to be done. My thought is that the plugs and soldering are the best place to make improvements.

You should go wireless!

I’m a little late to the party as usual but this is something I’ve also been wondering about. The Line 6 G30 is the one that caught my eye as well so thanks for the info!

I, too, hate the ads. They all seem to be telling us how despicable their opponent is but rarely mention what they plan to do differently.

Home, rehearsals, gigs - it’s all easier when you can just walk wherever you want without being tethered to something.
Especially when you are the tech guy / problem solver in the band.

Yeah, I'm usually the one running the PA, trying to get instruments/amps mic'ed, etc. I'll prolly give up and join the wireless movement as soon as we start working some more. The season's starting late this year(in FL it's Nov. to May +/-).
