Got one of my Christmas gifts last night at a gig in Spring, Texas. 1971 EB3L

Cosmetic condition is shockingly good for its age. Plays great. Having trouble dialing in a sound. Came strung with brand new rounds, but I’m not positive of the brand.
For this gig (Eskimo Brothers), at least, the solo’d mudbucker w/ no choke is pretty terrible. Just a big ol blurry mess. The most usable sound was both pickups on, mudbucker choked. But then the lows were a bit shy. I like the real throaty kids though and LOVE the way the bass feels. Can’t help but think a couple mods are in its future

Still on the high side IMO but at least this comes with the original case. The burst is the most common finish for this model. I hope they sell for this much. Then maybe I will flip mine!! Lol

Richard Chamberlain hey... hmmm. Back in those days (60s-70s) they often had to cast an import in a lead role to get funding, and often to get (or just to hope to get) an overseas release.
I’ll have to watch it again and see if he works in this film.
There was a bit of flack about him being cast in the Thorn Birds from memory.

Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock was a minor art house hit here. The Last Wave built on that. Then came Galipoli where they took a chance with Mel Gibson and the rest, as they say, is history. He made The Year of Living Dangerously, Dead Poets Socciety, Witness, Master and Commander...he is one of the greatest directors of our time.

I’ve always loved The Last Wave, in part for what he was able to do with so little money at the time.
